ISLAMABAD: Two new instances of polio have been affirmed by Polio Virology Laboratory at the National Institute of Health (NIH). 


An official of the Ministry of National Health Services said that one case was accounted for from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the other from Fata. The quantity of reported cases not long from now has now climbed to 166. 

Salma, a 16-month-old girl of Abdul Wajid, has been diagnosed with an early phase of loss of motion. The youngster is an inhabitant of Sheen Kamar Village in tehsil Tirah of Khyber Agency. 

The other tyke is eight month-old Habiba, little girl of Subhanallah. She is an inhabitant of Gharibabad Batatal town in tehsil Peshawar. 

"Salma did not get any measurements of polio antibody as no polio fight has been embraced in Fata since the boycott forced by Taliban in June 2012. Nonetheless, folks of the Pehawar-based young lady declined to get her immunized," an authority said. 

He said 119 cases had been accounted for from Fata in the not so distant future, 28 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 14 from Sindh, three from Balochistan and two from Punjab. 

"Consistently number of polio cases is expanding. In 2012, upwards of 58 polio cases were recorded. In 2013, the quantity of cases reported was 93. We are in ninth month of this current year however the check of polio cases has effectively touched 166." 

In view of expanding polio cases, Pakistan is prone to face humiliation at the gathering of the Independent Monitoring Board for Polio booked to be held in London on Sept 30.
